About Me:
Hi, I'm Annie. Or Anne, if you want to get official. Either is fine.
I'm a mother of 3,
spouse to G,
writer of things,
developmental psychologist in the making,
sister to 3 lovely people,
daughter of loving folks,
and lucky friend.
I'm an American living in Australia (by way of Boston, DC, Utah, Peru, and NYC) where I'm also finishing up a PhD in Child Development. Along the way, I have taught as an adjunct professor of human development, conducted child development research on topics ranging from infant brain development to teen parenthood, developed parenting curricula for a parenting non-profit, and directed research & development at an early education non-profit.
I write about parenting + family relationships + developmental research, led by my fascination with life within families--those personal, oh-so-human laboratories where we learn how to love, mess up, connect, learn and forgive. (Rinse, repeat. )
All of this is just to say: Come pull up a chair and let's have a chat about kids, families, parenting, child development research, traditions, siblings, relationships. I certainly don't have all of the answers but I do love following where the questions lead.
You can also find me at my personal blog, Basic Joy.
